Job summary

NORCAP, part of the Norwegian Refugee Council, seeks an inspiring Director to lead NORCAP’s expert pool, drive strategic direction, and strengthen partnerships across humanitarian and development sectors. As a member of NRC's Senior Management Group, you will shape programs, policy, and results while upholding the organisation's values.

Based in Oslo with a permanent contract and ~20% travel, you will build strong teams, ensure delivery of the global strategy, and foster a culture of excellence

Qualifications

• Senior management experience within humanitarian/development contexts.
• Proven track record in project and programme management.
• Successful fundraising and donor relations experience.
• Strong strategy development and implementation expertise.
• Professional credibility to represent NORCAP and NRC externally.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Develop strategy and action plans.
• Lead performance management and line management of staff.
• Ensure accountability of results per strategy, budgets, and plans.
• Establish policies, guidelines, and compliance.
• Own budget responsibility and allocate administration budgets.
• Represent NORCAP in NRC partnerships.
• Provide global crisis management leadership when required.
• Foster collaboration, learning, and cross-team coordination.
• Promote a unified organizational culture through leading by example.
• Maintain operational and institutional partnership relations.
