Job summary

Cobalt Recruitment is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its London fund accounting team in a growing fund administration business. The role offers broad exposure across private equity, private credit and real estate fund structures, with room to develop technical knowledge and take on more portfolio responsibility.

Candidates with fund accounting experience and a solid understanding of fundamentals are encouraged; ACA/ACCA/CIMA progress is desirable; strong Excel skills and client-facing

Qualifications

• Fund accounting or accounting-led fund administration experience.
• Exposure to private equity, private credit/debt or real estate funds.
• Experience preparing reconciliations, management accounts and fund reporting.
• Understanding of fund structures and accounting requirements.
• Progress towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounting records for a portfolio of alternative funds.
• Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Produce periodic management accounts.
• Prepare quarterly investor reporting.
• Support the preparation of audited and unaudited accounts.
• Prepare fund drawdown and distribution notices.
• Support treasury and liquidity reporting.
• Assist with bridging facility management and compliance reporting.
• Respond to investor queries and support investor relations.
• Provide information to tax advisers for VAT and corporate tax returns.
• Review transactions with junior team members.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax advisers, lawyers and external providers.
• Mentor junior colleagues as experience develops.
• Help meet client/reporting deadlines and improve processes.
