Job summary

KennedyPearce Consulting Ltd is partnering with a growing medical education business to recruit a Financial Controller or Financial Accountant who will own the day-to-day finance function and help drive growth. You will manage month-end close, balance sheet control, revenue recognition, budgeting and cash flow, and contribute to system improvements as the team expands.

ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified candidates with strong hands-on accounting and communication skills are preferred; hybrid working

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Strong technical with solid management accounting experience
• Experience with month-end close and balance sheet control
• Hands-on across a broad finance function
• Confident with Excel and financial reporting
• Experience with process improvement or accounting-system implementation
• Commercially minded and able to work independently
• Strong communicator with non-finance stakeholders
• Experience with Salesforce and data-quality projects advantageous

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close and monthly management accounts

• Perform variance analysis and reporting to senior stakeholders

Job description

KennedyPearce are partering with a growing medical education business. We're looking for a qualified Financial Controller or Financial Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and play a key role in the company's next phase of growth.

This would suit someone who is early in their Financial Controller career, but already has strong hands-on accounting experience and is ready to take broader ownership of the finance function.

You'll be responsible for:

• Owning the month-end close and monthly management accounts
• Balance sheet reconciliations and financial control
• Revenue recognition, including project and event-based revenue
• Variance analysis and reporting to senior stakeholders
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Improving visibility of project profitability and margins
• Supporting the implementation of a new accounting system
• Developing finance processes, controls, reconciliations and reporting
• Supporting audit, statutory accounts and tax requirements
• Working closely with operational teams and the wider group
• Supporting the development of the finance function as the business grows

We're looking for someone who is:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Strong technically with solid management accounting experience
• Experienced in month-end close and balance sheet control
• Comfortable working hands-on across a broad finance function
• Confident with Excel and financial reporting
• Experienced in process improvement or accounting-system implementation
• Commercially minded, organised and able to work independently
• A strong communicator who can work effectively with non-finance stakeholders
• Experience with Salesforce, accounting system implementations, automation or data-quality projects would be advantageous.
