Job summary

Videospan Labs is seeking a Founding Designer to define the visual language and user experience of our AI-powered video tools during a pivotal growth phase.

As the first design hire, you will own the design system, shape how users interact with video creation and editing workflows, and collaborate with engineers to ensure performant, delightful interfaces across product and marketing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience in SaaS or consumer tech.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX, visual design, and systems thinking.
• Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools.
• Experience designing for complex creative tools, video applications, or multimedia products.
• Ability to work autonomously in an early-stage environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product design, from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes, for video creation and editing workflows.
• Establish and maintain our design system to ensure consistency across the platform and marketing surfaces.
• Design for the unique challenges of video products: timelines, previews, rendering states, and complex media interactions.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure design intent is preserved and performance is considered.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to iterate rapidly on product features.
• Contribute to brand and marketing design as needed in a small, cross-functional team.

As our Founding Designer, you will define the visual language and user experience of Videospan during a critical growth phase. You will have massive impact as our first design hire, shaping how users interact with our AI-powered video tools, establishing our design system, and evolving our brand identity as we scale from late-stage seed toward Series A.
What you'll do
