Job summary

Wilhelmsen - Careers at Sea is seeking a Staff Chief Engineer for the cruise fleet, based in Oslo. The role requires a valid Chief Engineer license, STCW compliance, and strong leadership to guide engineering teams on board.

Applicants should have at least 2 years in Chief Engineer roles, knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, USCG/USPH, and proven references. Pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing are part of our standard process.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in the capacity of Chief Engineer/Staff Chief Engineer or other relevant experience from the Cruise Industry.
• Valid class Chief Engineer license and certificates according to STCW 95 as amended.
• Good knowledge about maritime rules and regulations (SOLAS, STCW, MARPOL, MLC)
• Good knowledge of the requirements under USPH and USCG
• Great leadership skills
• Fluent command in English
• Great interpersonal skills and good team leading ability
• Good references
• As part of our hiring process, candidates will undergo standard pre-employment checks, including medical and drug/alcohol testing
