Job summary

Wilhelmsen - Careers at Sea seeks a Chief Officer Expedition & Maintenance to lead and coordinate the deck department on a cruise vessel. You will report to the Master for navigation-related matters and to the Staff Captain for expedition and maintenance duties, ensuring safe, efficient operations and compliance with regulations.

You will oversee hangar operations, ballast water management, lifting equipment, and the upkeep of deck and hull systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate deck department operations and supervise crew.
• Maintain shipboard Life Saving Appliances (LSA) and related records.
• Ensure watertight integrity, stability, and seaworthiness; oversee hull and deck repairs.
• Oversee anti-pollution measures and ballast water management.
• Prepare for deck-related surveys and conduct training for zodiac and boat operations.
