Valarian Technologies Limited, London HQ, seeks an experienced Finance Manager to own finance operations, month-end close and management reporting in a growing business. You will drive process improvements, coordinate tax, equity actions and external advisers, while leading a lean but effective finance function.

You will manage day-to-day financials, partner with stakeholders and accelerate decision-making with strong controls and automation focus.

Qualifications

• Approximately 4-7 years of experience in management accounting, finance operations or a broad finance role.
• Experience in a startup, scale-up or fast-moving SME environment is highly desirable.
• Demonstrable experience owning a monthly close process and preparing management accounts.
• Part-qualified, finalist or qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred. Strong qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered.
• Experience coordinating external accountants, tax advisers, payroll providers, legal advisers or other specialists.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including reconciliations, management reporting and financial models.
• Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day finance operations: AP, AR, expenses, supplier onboarding and payment runs.
• Manage end-to-end supplier invoices, coding, approvals and documentation.
• Own customer and intercompany invoicing, including recurring invoices and debtor follow-up.
• Prepare and post month-end journals including accruals, prepayments and FX adjustments.
• Produce monthly management accounts: P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow and KPIs.
• Maintain audit trails and support investor/board reporting.
