Job description

Unleash is the world’s largest open-source FeatureOps platform — with over 13,000 GitHub stars, 35 million downloads, and 500+ paying customers, including companies like Lloyds Banking Group, Visa, Wayfair and Samsung.

We have established ourselves as a strategic enabler for how large enterprises build and release software. In March 2026, we raised a $35M Series B led by One Peak, and are now scaling globally across Europe and the US. As we continue to grow, building a robust and scalable finance function is critical to how we operate and make decisions.

As our Senior Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring that our financial foundation is accurate,
scalable, and built for the next stage of growth.

We are a remote-first company across 9 countries, with a Nordic culture built on trust, transparency, and autonomy.

This is a foundational finance role with high ownership and real impact. You will work closely with the VP Finance & Ops and leadership team, and take ownership of accounting, reporting, and core finance processes from day one.

You will join at a stage where:

  • The company has strong traction and funding
  • The finance function is still being built
  • Your work will directly influence how we scale

This is an opportunity to build, not just operate, and to shape how finance works in a growing international company. You will have real ownership from day one, not just responsibility on paper. Initially, you will work closely with external accounting partners across Norway and the US – and over time, help
shape how the finance function evolves as the company grows.

What You Will Do
Accounting, Close and Reporting

● Own the monthly close process and ensure accurate, timely, and well-documented financials
● Take full ownership of statutory reporting and financial statements
● Be the main point of contact for external accountants and auditors across Norway and the US
● Ensure strong revenue recognition and correct handling of deferred revenue
● Deliver clear monthly reporting on P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and key variances

Financial Insight and Business Support

● Translate financial data into insights that support decision-making
● Support leadership with reporting, analysis, and financial perspectives
● Contribute to board and investor reporting together with the VP Finance & Ops

Processes, Systems and Scale

● Build and improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows
● Own and evolve the accounting setup across entities and currencies
● Evaluate and improve systems over time, including potential ERP implementation
● Identify opportunities for automation and smarter use of technology

Day-to-day success

Financial accuracy: Financials are correct, reliable, and delivered on time
Close process: Month-end close is efficient and continuously improving
Insight: Financial reporting supports better decisions across the company
Scalability: Processes and systems are built to support continued growth

You might be a good fit if you have:
  • Strong accounting expertise and the ability to act as an internal authority on financial matters
  • Experience owning month-end close and financial reporting end-to-end
  • 6–12+ years of relevant experience in accounting, controlling, or similar roles
  • Experience working with multi-entity setups and multiple currencies
  • High ownership and ability to operate independently in a lean environment
  • Strong communication skills – able to turn numbers into clear insights
We also think it would be beneficial if you have:
  • Experience from SaaS or high-growth companies
  • Background from audit, transaction services, or similar before moving into industry
  • Experience working across European and US entities
  • Experience improving finance systems and processes
  • Interest in using technology, automation, or AI to improve finance workflows
What We Offer

This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-ownership finance role at a well-funded, high-growth company with a
product that real engineering teams depend on every day.

  • Work alongside a talented, mission-driven team across Europe and the US who move fast and build with
    care.
  • A foundational hire within our finance function – with real visibility, and clear room to grow as the company
    scales.
  • A company with real impact at some of the largest engineering organisations on the planet.
  • A competitive salary, equity, and benefits package.
