GE Vernova, Inc. seeks a Service Engineer to support hydro power generator service projects in Norway, combining engineering analysis with site-based problem-solving. Location is Oslo Skøyen and/or Lier, with flexible placement.

You will work with customers, project teams, workshop resources, and international engineering specialists to deliver high-quality technical solutions and maintain local responsibility on critical renewable assets.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Experience in hydro power or heavy industrial environments with large electromechanical systems.
• Experience with generator service, rehabilitation, or related service engineering is advantageous.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, NX) and reading technical drawings.
• Fluent English; Norwegian language knowledge required.
• Willingness to travel internationally and within the Nordic region.

Responsabilidades

• Act as the main engineering point of contact for customers during project execution.
• Review requirements and site conditions to define the most suitable technical solution.
• Support preparation of technical proposals for spare parts, inspections, maintenance activities, rehabilitation work, and minor repairs.
• Carry out site visits, inspections, and technical assessments of existing generator equipment.
• Define repair and maintenance scope based on equipment condition and project requirements.
• Support project execution by coordinating technical activities with internal teams, workshop resources, and external partners.
• Provide engineering support during manufacturing, installation, commissioning, testing, and other critical project phases.
• Ensure delivery in line with safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Manage technical changes, non-conformities, and engineering issues during project execution.
• Identify opportunities for additional service, maintenance, and repair work based on site findings and customer needs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned across projects.
