Elliptic Labs is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop and optimize real-time machine learning software for resource-constrained devices. You’ll work across embedded systems, ML, and signal processing, turning prototypes into production code deployed on smartphones, laptops, wearables, and other embedded platforms.

You’ll bring strong C and Rust experience, plus familiarity with ML frameworks and embedded toolchains.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to develop and optimize real-time machine learning software for resource-constrained devices.

You’ll work across embedded systems, machine learning, and signal processing, taking algorithms from prototype to efficient production code deployed on smartphones, laptops, wearables, and other embedded platforms.

What You’ll Work On

Real-time machine learning inference on DSPs, MCUs, NPUs, and other embedded accelerators

High-performance software in C and Rust

Optimization for latency, memory usage, compute, and power

Real-time audio, sensor, and signal-processing pipelines

Profiling, debugging, testing, and benchmarking

Integration across Android, Windows, Linux, SoCs, DSPs, and embedded platforms

Internal SDKs, tooling, automation, and test infrastructure

What We’re Looking For

Strong programming experience in C, Rust, and/or C++

Experience with embedded or real-time software development

Understanding of software architecture and maintainable systems

Experience with machine learning inference, edge AI, signal processing, or numerical computing

Experience with SoCs, DSPs, NPUs, microcontrollers, or hardware accelerators

Familiarity with performance optimization, quantization, SIMD, or fixed-point arithmetic

Experience with common development tools and workflows, including CMake, Cargo, GCC/Clang, Git, WSL, Docker, or similar

Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar, including model development and deployment workflows

Clear written and spoken communication skills in English

Experience with LLMs, coding agents, and modern AI-assisted development workflows is a plus. We value engineers who use these tools to work efficiently while maintaining engineering quality, questioning generated solutions, removing unnecessary complexity, and favoring clear, minimal designs when a simpler solution will do.
