Job summary

Coalesce Management Consulting is seeking an experienced Construction HSE Manager to join our project services team on a long-term contract in Norway. Job description

We're looking for an experienced Construction HSE Manager to join our project services team on a long-term contract in Norway. We're providing owner-side support on an onshore Hydrogen facility entering construction phase.

The role

You'll be working alongside the owner's project team, embedded on-site, with direct responsibility for HSE performance across multiple contractor packages during construction and commissioning. This is a practical, site-based position — not a corporate advisory or policy role.

Day to day, this means:

• Setting and maintaining HSE standards across construction activities and contractor interfaces
• Monitoring contractor HSE performance and intervening early where needed
• Coordinating safety across multiple work packages running in parallel
• Supporting the transition from construction into pre-commissioning and commissioning
• Contributing to the owner's HSE decision-making as part of a lean, collaborative project team

What we're looking for

• Proven construction HSE experience on onshore chemical, petrochemical, refinery, hydrogen, ammonia or similar process plant projects
• Comfortable working in multi-contractor EPCM or EPC environments
• Ability to manage HSE at site level — hands‑on, visible and practical
• Strong enough technically to challenge poor solutions and prevent rework or incidents
• Experience working on the owner or client side, or as an embedded part of an owner's team
• Willingness to be based in Norway for the duration of the engagement

Nice to have

• Previous project experience in Scandinavia or Norway specifically
• Norwegian or Scandinavian language skills
• Familiarity with Norwegian HSE regulations (Arbeidstilsynet, Petroleumstilsynet where relevant)
• Contract: 12 months minimum, extension based on good performance
• Location: Norway, on-site (project office location to be confirmed)
• Basis: Freelance / contract
• Start: Near‑term
