GE Vernova in Oslo is seeking an Engineering Manager for the GridOS Connect team to lead a group of backend and platform engineers. You will enable high performance, support career growth, and ensure delivery on a regular release cadence in a people-first leadership role.

You will partner with Product Owner and Architect, own hiring and onboarding, align roadmaps, and promote AI-assisted development tools while strengthening architectural decisions across the Connect product portfolio.

Competenze

Substantial software engineering background with distributed systems experience.
Formal engineering or technical degree is advantageous.
Proven people management or team leadership with ownership of outcomes.
Delivery management experience and familiarity with Agile/Scrum.

Lead and develop your team — line manage engineers across backend and platform disciplines; run regular one-to-ones, set growth goals, support promotions and skill development, and foster a high-performing culture.
Own hiring, onboarding — lead hiring interviews, design effective onboarding for new joiners, conduct performance reviews in line with HR guidance.
Drive delivery and release confidence — ensure the team delivers on the two-sprint monthly release cadence and coordinate cross-team dependencies to remove blockers.
Manage capacity and risk — track team capacity, plan for leave, flag resource risks early, adapt planning with evolving AI-assisted tools.
Serve as the interface between engineering and product — align with Product Owner/Manager on roadmaps and backlog prioritisation; represent the team to service delivery and product leadership.
Champion engineering excellence — promote adoption of AI-assisted development tooling and guide architectural decisions affecting the Connect product portfolio.
