GE Vernova in Oslo is seeking an Engineering Manager for the GridOS Connect team to lead a group of backend and platform engineers, delivering on a regular release cadence and maintaining high performance and quality.

You will collaborate with the Product Owner, Product Manager, and senior technical leads, growing into broader product responsibilities over time while promoting AI-assisted development and engineering excellence across a multi-site organization.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in software engineering, ideally distributed systems or enterprise SaaS environments.
• People management or team lead experience with ownership of team outcomes.
• Solid engineering foundation to engage credibly with senior engineers on technical decisions.
• Delivery management experience with Agile/Scrum, sprint planning, release management, and backlog management.
• Clear communication skills across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Product Owners, Architects, QA, SRE, and external Product Managers.

Aufgaben

• Lead and develop your team: manage ~10-11 engineers, set growth goals, support promotions, and foster a high-performing culture aligned with GE Vernova values.
• Own hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews per HR guidance and manage performance constructively.
• Drive delivery and release confidence: ensure two-sprint monthly cadence and cross-team coordination; remove blockers.
• Manage capacity and risk: track capacity, plan for leave, adapt planning as AI-assisted tools change productivity.
• Serve as the interface between engineering and product: align roadmap/backlog and represent the Connect team to leadership and other sites.
• Champion engineering excellence: promote AI-assisted tooling and influence architectural decisions across the portfolio.
