Job summary

Nexans is seeking an Engineering Manager – Projects to lead technical delivery for complex subsea cable projects. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to meet contractual and international standards.

Based in Halden or Oslo with partial home-office, you will drive risk management, resource planning, and continuous improvement while aligning with Nexans’ QHSE culture and project execution model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience managing engineering activities in complex projects.
• Fluent in English and Norwegian, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead and primary engineering contact for assigned projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensure deliverables meet timelines, budgets, quality, contract specifications, and international standards.
• Manage technical interfaces across engineering disciplines, manufacturing, procurement, installation teams, external suppliers, and clients.
• Support project execution from early tender phase through establishment, engineering execution, risk and change management, installation support, and close-out.

The Engineering Management team is responsible for leading and executing engineering activities across all projects within thePower Transmissionbusiness group. The team ensures successful technical delivery throughout the entire project lifecycle, from tender support and project planning to engineering execution, installation, and project close-out.

As part of this team, you will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, manufacturing units, clients, and global stakeholders to deliver technically complex, high-impact projects. The workplace is primarilyHalden or Oslo, with flexibility for partial home office. You will report to theDepartment Manager, Engineering Management.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

AsEngineering Manager – Projects, you will act as thetechnical lead and primary engineering point of contactfor assigned projects, ensuring successful system delivery throughout the full project lifecycle.

You will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring engineering deliverables are completed according to project timelines, budgets, quality requirements, contract specifications, and international standards.

You will manage technical interfaces across engineering disciplines, manufacturing, procurement, installation teams, external suppliers, and clients, ensuring the overall technical solution is optimized throughout the project execution process.

You will support project execution from early tender phase through project establishment, engineering execution, risk management, change management, installation support, and final project close-out, while maintaining compliance with Nexans’ internal standards and Project Execution Model.

In addition, you will provide leadership to project teams by allocating resources effectively, facilitating collaboration, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting competence development, and promoting a strongQuality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE)culture across the organization

YOUR STARTING POINT WHEN YOU JOIN

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• 5-10years experience managing engineering activities in complex project environments, preferably within offshore, energy, infrastructure, marine, or industrial projects
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering execution, technical interfaces, and project delivery throughout the full project lifecycle
• Experience working with project execution models, contract management, risk management, technical documentation, and engineering quality standards
• Ability to manage technical stakeholders, coordinate cross-functional teams, and lead engineering activities within budget and schedule constraints
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical decisions in complex environments
• Fluent inEnglish and Norwegian, written and spoken
