Job summary

Nexans is seeking a Senior Purchaser – Tender & Projects to join the Oslo office. You will manage purchasing packages for ongoing projects, provide costing input to tender teams, and ensure adherence to Nexans procedures within a cross-functional, international environment.

You will work in a six-person team focused on tendering and vessel operations, with opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain.
  • Some years of relevant purchasing experience.
  • Comfortable working in English; knowledge of Norwegian or French is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for various purchasing packages to support ongoing projects.
  • Provide costing and procurement input to Nexans’ Tendering Teams.
  • Perform purchasing activities in line with Nexans processes and procedures.

You will join the Tender & Project Purchasing team – a diverse, multicultural team with colleagues in Norway, France and the UK.

We are responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing activities for tenders and projects, in line with Nexans’ purchasing procedures. In weekly team meetings we share ongoing activities, lessons learned and best practices.

  • Your workplace will be our Oslo office.
  • You will be part of a purchasing team of about six people, working on a broad range of purchasing tasks primarily related to tendering and supporting our vessel operations.
  • The matrix organization and project setup ensure a strong cross-functional collaboration and good information flow across disciplines.

As Senior Purchaser – Tender & Projects, you will:

  • Take responsibility for various purchasing packages to support ongoing projects.
  • Provide costing and procurement input to Nexans’ Tendering Teams.

During project execution, you will:

  • Ensure high-quality deliveries
  • Contribute to efficient project execution
  • Minimize variations and claims through close follow-up of internal stakeholders, suppliers, contracts and deliveries
YOUR STARTING POINT

You recognize yourself in several of the points below:

  • You have a Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain and some years of relevant experience. Alternatively, other formal education combined with extensive relevant experience can be considered
  • You are proactive, eager to learn and improve, and comfortable taking responsibility
  • You have strong communication and collaboration skills
  • You are comfortable working in English (our working language), knowledge of Norwegian and/or French is an advantage
