Job summary

A maritime company is seeking 7 Engine Fitters to join their fleet. Responsibilities include observing safety practices, assisting with maintenance and repairs, and receiving job orders from the Second Engineer. Candidates should have at least 1 year experience as an Engine Fitter. The position allows for worldwide travel.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience as Engine Fitter (or equivalent) on international trade.
• At least 1 year of engine fitter experience on ships or similar environments.

Responsibilities

• Receive job orders from Second Engineer and work observing safe working practices.
• Take fuel oil and diesel oil tank soundings when required.
• Assist in maintenance, overhauls and repairs of the Main Engine.
• Assist in mooring operations as required.
• Assist in maintenance, overhauls, and repairs of the Main Engine and other machinery.
• Fabricate or repair machinery parts using workshop equipment.

Job Description:

Main Duties

• Receive job orders from Second Engineer and work observing safe working practices at all times.
• Take Fuel Oiland Diesel Oiltank soundings when required.
• Work on deck or any part of the vessel when required.
• Assist in mooring operations as required.

Safety and Security

• Comply with onboard instructions regarding safety and pollution prevention as defined in the Company Safety, Security and Quality Management Policy.
• Assist in Security Duties as required by Ship Security Officer (SSO).
• Observe safe working practices at all times.
• Ensure hot work is performed following the Company's procedures.

Maintenance and Repair

• Assist in maintenance, overhauls and repairs of the Main Engine and other machinery.
• Fabricate or repair machinery parts that are possible to fix using workshop equipment.
