Job summary

Wall Township Police Department is seeking a Part-Time Police Communications Officer to receive and transmit reliable messages, track units, and log critical information. You will handle both administrative and emergency calls and ensure appropriate dispatch of first responders.

As a communications officer, you will coordinate radio traffic, monitor officer status, and share information with local, state, and federal agencies. The role requires resilience, discretion, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license preferred.
  • Ability to work shifts around-the-clock, including weekdays, weekends and holidays.
  • Oral and written communication must be excellent with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Answering all incoming calls, admin and emergency, and obtaining essential information.
  • Dispatching, coordinating, and monitoring radio communications for officers and responders.
  • Monitoring officer status and security of field personnel.
  • Accessing and disseminating information to local, state, and federal agencies via NCIC.
  • Receiving and responding to alarms.
  • Providing information needed by field personnel.
