Job description

We are the independent expert in assurance and risk management. Driven by our purpose, to safeguard life, property, and the environment, we empower our customers and their stakeholders with facts and reliable insights so that critical decisions can be made with confidence.

We are the independent expert in assurance and risk management. Driven by our purpose, to safeguard life, property, and the environment, we empower our customers and their stakeholders with facts and reliable insights so that critical decisions can be made with confidence.

As a trusted voice for many of the world’s most successful organizations, we use our knowledge to advance safety and performance, set industry benchmarks, and inspire and invent solutions to tackle global transformations.

About The Role

Since 2008, DNV has hosted the DNV Summer Project, bringing together talented master students from different academic backgrounds to explore complex challenges with real-world relevance.

For our 2027 Summer Project, we will once again welcome eight master's students entering the final year of their studies to explore how technological change is transforming organisations, careers, and workplaces, and what it means for companies like DNV.

Scope

How will the interaction between AI-native talent and established organisations shape the future of work?

Education

Today's students can complete much of their education with AI as a constant companion, helping them learn, analyse, write, code and solve problems. As this generation enters the workforce, organisations face fundamental questions:

  • How will AI change what skills are valuable?
  • How should companies recruit and develop future talent?
  • How will leadership, organisational structures and ways of working evolve?
  • What can established organisations learn from companies that have been built around AI from day one?

To answer these questions, you will combine research, interviews and analysis, engaging with experts across DNV as well as external organisations, start-ups, universities and industry leaders.

In DNV, we believe these questions will shape the future of work over the coming decade.

What Will You Deliver

The objective of the project is not to understand AI itself, but to understand how AI is changing organisations, people and work.

During your time at DNV you will develop insights and recommendations that can help DNV prepare for the future workforce and the changing demands of an increasingly AI-driven world.

Your Work May Include
  • Identifying implications for recruitment, competence development and workforce planning
  • Exploring how organisational structures and ways of working may evolve
  • Developing future scenarios for how work could change over the coming decade
  • Assessing what established organisations can learn from AI-native organisations
  • Providing recommendations to help DNV remain attractive, effective and competitive in the future

The results will be presented to the whole company, including senior leaders and contribute to discussions about DNV's future workforce, organisation and ways of working.

What we offer

The DNV Summer Project is more than a summer job. It is a unique opportunity to work alongside leading experts, take ownership from day one, and contribute to solving a real and highly relevant challenge with direct relevance for DNV's future.

In Addition, We Offer
  • Competitive compensation and working conditions
  • A welcoming and collaborative working environment
  • Social events and opportunities to connect with students, graduates and experienced professionals across DNV
  • Access to all facilities at our Høvik campus, including gym facilities, sports halls, tennis courts, kayaks, ski equipment and a wide range of organised activities
  • Free parking and access to DNV shuttle buses connecting our headquarters with Skøyen, Lysaker and Sandvika
  • Located by the Oslo Fjord, our Høvik headquarters offers a unique working environment where professional development, collaboration and outdoor activities go hand in hand

DNV is an Equal Opportunity Employer and gives consideration for employment to qualified applicants without regard to gender, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, cultural background, social group, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, age or political opinion. Diversity is fundamental to our culture and we invite you to be part of this diversity.

About You

We believe the strongest team combines different perspectives, experiences and ways of thinking. We are looking for students who are currently in the fourth year of a master's programme and will enter their final year in autumn 2027. You do not need to be an AI expert to apply. What matters most is your curiosity about how technology is changing organisations, people and work.

Relevant Backgrounds Could Be
  • Organisational Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Science and technical studies (engineering)
  • Industrial economics and technology management
  • Information systems/digital transformation
  • Business, strategy, and management
  • Law, with an interest in technology regulation
  • Economics
  • Data Science or AI
  • Communication or change management

DNV values diverse perspectives and welcomes applications from students with other academic backgrounds who have a clear interest in the topics explored in this project.
