Job summary

S-RM in London is seeking an experienced Senior Analyst for the Digital Forensics team to deliver investigations, combining deep technical expertise with strong communication to support complex cases.

You will perform forensic preservation and wide-ranging analysis across Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android, and cloud platforms, lead lab maintenance, and craft clear reports for senior stakeholders. The role requires independence and collaboration with legal teams.

Qualifications

  • Technical experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a Digital Forensics lab environment.
  • Experience with forensic preservation methodologies, chain of custody, and contemporaneous record keeping.
  • Experience in Windows, Linux and MacOS forensic acquisition and analysis.
  • Experience in iOS and Android forensic acquisition and analysis.
  • Experience with third-party applications (WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal).
  • Experience with cloud-based evidence (iCloud, Google, social media).
  • Experience conducting investigations in hosted cloud environments (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS).
  • Proficiency with forensic tools including Cellebrite, Oxygen, AXIOM, X-Ways, FTK.
  • Experience writing forensic reports with methodologies, findings, and conclusions.
  • Regularly interacts with legal counsel and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform forensic preservation of digital evidence following best practices and maintain chain of custody.
  • Conduct in-depth forensic analysis across Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android, cloud platforms, and proprietary apps.
  • Lead ongoing management and maintenance of the Digital Forensics lab.
  • Deliver clear, concise findings through written reports and briefings to senior stakeholders.
  • Provide technical and operational support to senior members of the Digital Forensics team and coordinate with tooling and infrastructure colleagues.
  • Research and test new technologies and platforms as part of bespoke investigations.
  • Support internal initiatives to improve knowledge and efficiency in the Digital Forensics lab.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate willplayan important rolein the delivery of forensic investigations in S-RM’sDigital Forensicsteam. They will bring in-depth technicalexpertisecombined with strong communicationskillstocontribute to thedelivery ofcomplexinvestigations.

The key areas of responsibility will be:

  • Perform forensic preservation of digital evidencein accordance withbest practice and recognised standards,maintainingchain of custody, and contemporaneous record keeping.
  • Conduct in-depth forensic analysis across a wide range of digital sources; including but not limited to Windows, Linuxand MacOS computers, iOS and Android mobile devices, enterprise and personal cloud platforms, and proprietary applications.
  • Leadthe ongoing managementandmaintenance of the Digital Forensics lab.
  • Deliver clear, concise, and defensible findings through high-quality written reports and verbal briefings, including responding toquestionsfrom senior stakeholders.
  • Provide technical and operational support tosenior members of theDigital Forensics team, including coordination with colleagues responsible for tooling and infrastructure.
  • Research and testing: Conduct in-depth research and testing of new technologies , devices and platforms as part of investigations that are bespoke in nature and involve novel technologies.
  • Practice development: Supporting internal initiatives to improve the knowledge, capabil ities, and efficiencies in our Digital Forensics lab .

Experience and background

  • Technical experience, with a minimum of 3years experience,inaDigital Forensicslab environment,including demonstratable understanding and experience of:
  • Forensic preservation methodologies,chain of custody, and contemporaneous record keeping;
  • Windows, Linuxand MacOS forensic acquisition and analysis;
  • iOS and Android forensic acquisition and analysis;
  • Third-party applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal;
  • Cloud-based evidencesuch as iCloud, Google, and social media platforms.
  • Experience conducting investigationsin hosted cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace,and AWS) is beneficial.
  • Works independently in the use ofa range offorensic tools including Cellebrite, Oxygen, AXIOM, X-Ways, FTK, etc.
  • Experiencewritingforensic reports including methodologies, technical findings, and conclusions.
  • Regularly interact s with legal counsel and /or external senior stakeholders.
