Job summary

TOMRA is seeking a DevOps Engineer for the RVM Software department in Asker. You will contribute to modernization and cloud transformation, partnering with another DevOps Engineer to enhance automation, tooling and CI infrastructure. The role suits those eager to grow and learn in a collaborative Agile setting.

Fluency in English is required; Norwegian is a plus. Hybrid work is available, with opportunities for professional development and a competitive compensation package including benefits

Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in software related studies or equivalent.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
  • Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.
  • Strong Linux operating system skills.

  • Maintain and evolve DevOps practices, culture and tools.
  • Improve automation, CI/CD workflows and developer experience.
  • Maintain and optimize Docker images and tool integrations.
  • Develop, monitor and troubleshoot CI infrastructure and environments.

The RVM Software department at TOMRA Collection develops and maintains the software that powers TOMRA’s new and existing reverse vending machines (RVMs).
The RVM Software department consists of 30 developers organized into five cross-functional Agile teams. Eachteamowns a functional part of the RVM with a responsibility to ensure quality and a sustainable codebase over time. Our technology spans from OS-level and microcontrollers to application- and user interface software as well as advanced computer vision.
As a DevOps Engineer in RVM Software, you will contribute to our modernization- and cloud‑transformation journey, shaping future‑oriented solutions and technologies. Working closely with another DevOps Engineer, you’ll improve our automation, tools, and CI infrastructure, and help elevate the developer experience for our department.

Responsibilities:

You will play a key role in maintaining and further developing our DevOps practices, culture, and tools, with responsibilities such as:

  • Improve automated workflows with a focus on robustness,predictabilityand efficiency
  • Maintain and improve our docker images
  • Upgrade,maintainand review relevant tools and tool integrations
  • Maintain and troubleshoot our development environments and CI infrastructure

You will also contribute to develop DevEx for our department.

What you bring:
  • BSc, MSc, or similar in software related studies. Relevant work experience may compensate for lack of a formal education.
  • Experience with CI/CD
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python
  • Experience with Linux

We’re looking for experience with one or more of the following; Docker, GitHub Actions, Azure, or Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
You do not need to have extensive experience to apply; we are open to candidates who are early in their careers and who bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a eagerness to develop their skills.
