Job description

We’ve just rebuilt our data platform from the ground up. It’s fast, it’s scalable, and it’s what the next generation of personalisation and experimentation across our product will run on. We’re looking for a Data Engineer to build on it and help shape where it goes next.

Every week, what you build reaches tens of thousands of households across Norway, Sweden and Denmark, with Finland joining this autumn. Dinner turns up at their doorstep, people cook, and a good chunk of that depends on data being right.

The role

You’ll join the 6-person Data Platform Team, which builds and owns our central data model, tooling and infrastructure. You’ll also work closely with the wider 10-person data discipline. Between us we serve the rest of the company with the data it needs to make better decisions, and we power the internal and customer‑facing products that run on top of it.

You will:

  • Model clean, trustworthy dimensional data for analysts, data scientists and stakeholders across the business.
  • Build production‑grade pipelines in Python that feed the models, dashboards and decisions the rest of the business relies on.
  • Build and maintain the shared tools and frameworks that make everyone else in the discipline faster.
  • Raise the bar through code reviews and knowledge shares, and let other people raise yours.
Our stack
  • Databricks for storage, ingestion, orchestration and workflows
  • dbt for transformation and modelling
  • Terraform for infrastructure as code
  • GitHub for version control and CI/CD
  • Azure for our cloud environment
  • Power BI for reporting and self‑serve analytics
  • Mixpanel for product analytics
  • Claude for AI-assisted development across the team

You don’t need to have used all of these. We’ll help you get up to speed.

How we work

We run 7-week "Cook" periods where the team works towards a small number of meaningful objectives, followed by 2-week "Prep" periods for retros, demos, planning and learning. It keeps focus high during Cook and means the thinking time is protected rather than squeezed in around the edges.

AI is embedded across the product and tech department and we back that up with a generous token budget.

The organisation is flat, the data community is supportive, and there’s a high level of trust and flexibility in how you run your day.

What we’re looking for

You might have worked as a data engineer, analytics engineer, or data analyst. The title matters less to us than the skillset and the mindset.

  • Around 2 to 5 years working with data transformations and modelling.
  • Comfortable with Python and SQL, and you enjoy structuring data models that make sense to other people.
  • Collaborative by default. You share work early rather than building in isolation, you work well with people outside engineering, and you can give and take feedback.
  • Curious about AI-assisted development. If you’ve already worked with Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, great.
  • A product mindset. You care about the outcome for the user and the business, not only the pipeline.
  • Clear communicator in English.

Nice to have experience:

  • dbt, Databricks, Terraform or GitHub Actions.
  • Azure.
  • Power BI, or supporting self‑serve analytics in other tools.
Who is Cheffelo?

Cheffelo is a profitable Scandinavian meal kit company. Since 2006 we’ve been making it easier for people to eat varied, home‑cooked meals without the planning and shopping, and with a lot less food waste than the weekly supermarket shop tends to produce.

We have around 400 employees, run our own production facilities, and build our customer‑facing app and internal tools ourselves. We operate under the brands Linas in Sweden, Godtlevert in Norway, and RetNemt in Denmark. In 2025 we turned over SEK 1.2 billion and delivered roughly 17 million meals. We’re listed on Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market under CHEF.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, regardless of age, gender, religion, nationality or ethnicity.
