Data Center Design Lead for AI Infrastructure

Job summary

Radiant is building purpose-built AI infrastructure with a strong emphasis on sovereignty, performance, and scale. You will define and own the design standards for electrical, mechanical, civil and BIM across live data-centre projects, while remaining hands-on in early stages.

You will review packages, engage with EPCs and consultants in workshops, and write technical requirements. This role demands senior technical leadership and the ability to push back when needed.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on design experience in electrical or mechanical engineering for data centres or similarly complex mission‑critical facilities.
• Comfort producing or heavily marking up design output yourself, not just directing others.
• Working knowledge of high-density GPU cooling (air and liquid) and power distribution/redundancy topologies.
• Ability to set a standard from a blank page and drive it across projects.
• Charismatic, decisive, and able to push back on consultants and EPCs on technical substance.
• Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical, mechanical, civil and BIM standards across live projects.
• Review and markup design packages from consultants and contractors.
• Hands-on delivery on switchgear, cooling strategy, and structural design for GPU-density loads.
• Join design workshops and resolve RFIs directly with EPCs and consultants.
• Write technical requirements and review supplier/contractor responses.
• Build out leads as the portfolio grows and maintain senior technical oversight.
