Job summary

Zaptec is seeking a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer to join our Stavanger HQ and strengthen security across users, devices, cloud services and networks. You will work closely with SOC and engineering teams to build secure-by-design practices and reduce risk.

You’ll be responsible for implementing security controls, monitoring, incident response, and improving security configurations across endpoints, identities and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on security engineering across endpoints, identities, cloud and network.
• Experience with monitoring, incident response and reducing risk.
• Familiarity with SIEM/XDR, EDR and secure development practices.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen identity and access security across users, roles, access policies and privileged accounts.
• Improve endpoint security and device posture across laptops, mobile devices and other managed endpoints.
• Secure network access through modern access controls, secure connectivity and web protection.
• Detect, investigate and respond to security events in collaboration with our SOC and internal teams.
• Identify and reduce vulnerabilities across identities, endpoints, cloud services and internal systems.
• Improve secure configurations and baselines for devices, cloud environments and access policies.
• Support secure use of cloud services and business-critical systems.
• Contribute to secure-by-design practices with engineering and Data & AI teams.
• Strengthen user awareness and security culture around phishing and data handling.
