Zaptec is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our Stavanger HQ and help strengthen security across users, devices, cloud services, identities and network access. You’ll work closely with engineering and security teams to embed secure practices and respond to threats with a hands-on approach.

You’ll investigate vulnerabilities, improve endpoint and network security, and drive secure configurations while promoting a strong security culture across the organization.

Qualifications

• Hands-on cybersecurity experience or security engineering role.
• Experience implementing security controls across endpoints, identity, cloud or network security.
• Experience with security monitoring, incident response and vulnerability management.
• Professional written and spoken English communication skills.
• Experience with SIEM/XDR, EDR, zero trust, secure development, scripting or security frameworks is a plus.

Zaptec is looking for an Cyber Security Engineer!

As Zaptec grows, so does the technology behind what we do and the importance of protecting it. We’re now looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join us at our Stavanger HQ and take a hands‑on role in strengthening security across Zaptec.

This role is dedicated to strengthening and maturing cybersecurity across Zaptec, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact on how the area continues to develop. You’ll help improve how we protect our users, devices, cloud services, identities and network access, while collaborating closely with different departments across the organization.

Some days will be about investigating and solving what’s in front of you. Others will be about looking ahead: identifying where we can reduce risk, improving endpoint security, strengthening user awareness, following up on vulnerabilities and introducing better ways of working. In short, you’ll help us build security even more deeply into how Zaptec operates, develops and grows.

As for the skills required for this job

We’re looking for someone with solid hands‑on experience from cybersecurity, security engineering or a similar technical role. You don’t need to know every technology we use, but you should be comfortable working across different areas of security and turning risks into practical improvements.

We believe you’ll thrive in this role if you:

Have hands‑on experience implementing and improving technical security controls across areas such as endpoints, identity, cloud or network security.

Have experience identifying, investigating and reducing technical security risks and vulnerabilities.

Have worked with security monitoring and incident response, either directly or alongside SOC and technical teams.

Are comfortable working with engineers and other technical teams to build security into systems and ways of working.

Communicate professionally in English, both written and spoken.

Experience with areas such as SIEM/XDR, EDR, zero trust, secure development, scripting or established security frameworks is a plus, but we don’t expect you to tick every box.
