Job summary

Google is seeking a Program Manager in Norway (Oslo/Skien) to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects across the Strategic Partnership Office, coordinating requirements, schedules, risks, and cross-functional communication.

You will partner with local communities, municipal leaders, and industry partners to develop place-based development plans and scalable Community Affairs strategies aligned with Google's objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience managing a team of managers.
  • Experience developing and launching local, state, national or global public-private partnerships.
  • Experience in data centers, utilities, government, advanced manufacturing or capital intensive industries.
  • Experience using data and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global data center community development strategies, investments, and impact for Norway.
  • Engage with key opinion formers, community groups such as municipal leaders, industry partners, economic development organizations, schools, education institutions, and non-profits to ensure initiatives are centered around community needs and accelerating business objectives.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and peers to develop strategies to scale sub regional Community Affairs coverage in emerging markets, focusing on place-based frameworks and partnerships to produce location-specific development plans based on research data turned into actionable insights to prioritize community needs.
  • Develop communication tools and processes to educate local communities about the role and impact of data centers, and create locally focused investment plans that are self-sustaining, localizing and implementing community development initiatives in each community.

As part of the SPO (Strategic Partnership Office), the Economic and Community Development team is a vertically integrated organization responsible for analyzing and mitigating economic, community, and labor risks to deliver an optimized inventory of assets meeting the operating needs of the business, and to ensure economic growth and resilience leveraging place-based strategies our markets. You will provide the hyperlocal civic impact, community sustainability, and external engagement strategy, programs, structure, and tools to expand economic, community and workforce development outcomes for our communities.
