Job summary

Atlantach is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning delivery of a state-of-the-art data centre project in Norway. You will manage all commissioning activities from design review through IST and final handover, ensuring safety, reliability and client alignment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commissioning for mission-critical facilities, strong mechanical/electrical expertise, and extensive client-facing experience with a General/EPC contractor or major provider.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in commissioning mission-critical facilities.
• Proven track record as a Commissioning Manager on large-scale data centre projects.
• Strong experience in both mechanical and electrical commissioning.
• Demonstrated ability to develop commissioning scripts, procedures and testing methodologies.
• Experience leading IST and system validation programmes.
• Extensive client-facing experience including design reviews and workshops.
• Experience with General Contractors, EPC contractors or major commissioning providers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the overall commissioning strategy, programme and execution plan.
• Lead commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, controls and integrated systems.
• Review designs with client, consultants and subcontractors to ensure operability and testability.
• Create commissioning plans, test scripts, procedures and IST protocols.
• Lead FAT, SAT, FPT and IST activities and manage commissioning teams and vendors.
• Coordinate client witness testing and final handover activities.
• Ensure all commissioning documentation and turnover packages are completed to a high standard.

Currently we are looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning delivery of a state-of-the-art sustainable Data Centre project in Norway. Working on behalf of the General Contractor, the successful candidate will manage all commissioning activities from design review through integrated systems testing and final handover, ensuring the facility is delivered safely, reliably, and in line with client requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the overall commissioning strategy, programme, and execution plan.
• Lead commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, controls, and integrated sys
• tems.
• Review designs with the client, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure systems are operable, maintainable, and fully testable.
• Develop commissioning plans, test scripts, procedures, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) protocols.
• Lead factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), functional performance testing (FPT), and IST activities.
• Manage commissioning teams, specialist vendors, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate client witness testing and final handover activities.
• Ensure all commissioning documentation, reports, and turnover packages are completed to the highest standard.

Authority

• You have authority to stop the job if you feel there is an unsafe work practice which could result in a risk of injury, have an environmental impact or risk to equipment and other personnel.
• Carry out your duties to meet Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements at all times.

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience in commissioning mission-critical facilities.
• Proven track record as a Commissioning Manager on large-scale data centre projects.
• Strong experience in both mechanical and electrical commissioning.
• Demonstrated experience developing commissioning scripts, procedures, and testing methodologies.
• Experience leading Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and system validation programmes.
• Extensive client-facing experience, including design reviews and technical workshops.
• Experience working for a General Contractor, EPC contractor, or major commissioning provider

Technical Requirements

• Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) and liquid-to-chip cooling systems.
• Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs) and chilled water systems.
• HVAC and heat rejection systems.
• UPS, generators, MV/HV electrical systems, and critical power infrastructure.
• BMS, EPMS, SCADA, and integrated controls systems.
• Data centre resiliency and failover testing
