Job summary

StoryTerrace is seeking a senior publishing leader to own editorial quality across the business, from scoping projects to delivering manuscript-ready work. You will report to the CEO and guide writers, editors, and freelancers.

In this hybrid London-based role, you will set standards for 30-50 PRO projects, manage client escalations, recruit a distributed team across the UK and US, and work with Product and Sales to align AI-assisted content with the high quality your clients expect.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in editorial or publishing leadership role.
• Experience managing freelance or distributed content teams.
• Ghostwriting, memoir or thought-leadership publishing experience.
• Ability to define and teach a concrete quality standard.
• Experience running client-facing strategy/discovery sessions.

Responsibilities

• Own the editorial infrastructure for 30-50 PRO projects and uphold quality and client satisfaction.
• Handle high-stakes client communications and escalations when needed.
• Recruit, brief, and manage freelance editorial staff across the UK and US.
• Join sales calls as publishing expert to scope projects and set expectations.
• Collaborate with Product to refine AI-assisted content prompts; align with Sales on client experience.
• Set and communicate content standards to in-house and freelance teams.
