Job summary

Ytri Island Retreat AS in Træna, Norway, seeks a Breakfast Server to join our front-of-house team for an initial 2-month full-time contract with the possibility of extension to a permanent position.

You will welcome guests, serve a distinctive Norwegian breakfast experience at the table, and collaborate with the kitchen to ensure a memorable start to each day in a remote island setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality, restaurants, cafés, or hotels preferred but not essential.
• Strong customer service attitude and genuine hospitality.
• Fluent English required; Scandinavian language skills are a plus.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Well-organised, reliable, and attentive to detail.
• Comfortable working early morning shifts.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism.
• Prepare and serve the breakfast experience, including table service, buffet presentation, and coffee/tea service.
• Ensure the breakfast area is clean and well-presented before, during, and after service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to deliver a smooth guest experience.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, personalised service.
• Assist with preparation for the next day’s breakfast service.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sustainability standards.
