Job summary

The University of Stavanger invites applications for an Associate Professor position in Environmental Biotechnology within the Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Chemistry, Bioscience and Environmental Engineering. The role combines research, teaching and supervision across bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels, with emphasis on water quality and sustainable resources.

Qualifications

• PhD in environmental biotechnology or environmental engineering or closely related field.
• Ability to document active, ongoing research at a high academic level.
• Teaching experience and ability to supervise at bachelor’s, master's and doctoral levels.
• Proficiency in Norwegian or demonstrated ability to reach B2 level at appointment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-level research and contribute to the department's research portfolio.
• Teach and supervise students at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels.
• Disseminate research results and develop collaborations with industry and public sector partners.
• Develop innovative and digital teaching methods and contribute to open science initiatives.
