Job summary

Lace Lithography is seeking an experienced AMO Experimental Physicist / Engineer to join our Bergen-based team. You will help develop and optimize beam conditioning systems, working with physicists, chemists, and developers to translate R&D into robust product architectures.

The role requires deep theoretical insight and hands-on experimental skill in laser cooling and atomic physics, with opportunities across design, diagnostics, and system integration. Relocation support is provided.

Qualifications

PhD in Physics or related field with AMO focus.
Hands-on experience with laser cooling and atom optics.
Experience aligning complex optical systems and vacuum hardware.
Proficient with Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for data analysis.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize experimental setups involving laser cooling and atomic beams.
Improve beam conditioning modules for flux, control, and stability.
Develop diagnostics such as spectroscopy and beam profiling.
Collaborate with Optomechanical and CAD engineers to advance AMO systems.
Support deployment and training of Lace systems; contribute to design reviews.
