Job summary

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the European transportation strategy, taking overall responsibility for the design and optimization of the European road transportation network.
• Oversee end-to-end transportation operations, including first-mile pickup, line-haul transportation, inter-hub transfers, and last-mile delivery. Take full accountability for operational service quality and the development of sustainable transportation resources.
• Lead the establishment and management of the in-house fleet and third-party carrier network. Responsibilities include vehicle procurement and fleet operations, carrier sourcing and development, tendering, commercial negotiations, contract and SLA development, performance scorecards and quarterly business reviews (QBRs), peak-season capacity planning, subcontractor risk management, freight auditing, and dispute resolution.
• Manage the European transportation budget and P&L, monitoring cost per kilometer, cost per shipment, and transportation costs as a percentage of revenue. Drive sustainable cost reductions through route optimization, shipment consolidation, load factor improvement, transportation mode optimization, and process automation. Support pricing strategies and landed cost calculations for new product and service launches.
• Drive TMS digitalization initiatives and establish management dashboards covering transit time, cost, service quality, and transportation capacity to support data-driven decision-making.
• Build, develop, and lead a multinational operations team covering planning, dispatch, hub operations, customs, and data analytics. Design and optimize the organizational structure in line with business expansion.
• Act as the European transportation operations lead, working closely with headquarters teams across Product, Business Development, Finance, IT, and Customer Service. Drive cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment across the organization.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited university, with at least 5 years of experience in transportation or supply chain operations, including at least 2 years in a senior management role with multi-country responsibilities.
• Extensive hands-on experience in European road freight and cross-border transportation. Strong understanding of carrier markets, port and border operations, and transportation cost structures in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, and other major European markets.
• Proven experience in building or transforming operational systems from the ground up (0-to-1). Familiarity with transportation capacity planning and business continuity contingency planning during peak seasons, particularly when shipment volumes double.
• Professional proficiency in English (C1 level or above), with the ability to independently conduct commercial negotiations and deliver presentations to senior management. Professional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is required for daily collaboration with headquarters. German, Dutch, French, or Polish language skills are considered an advantage.
• Candidates with existing legal authorization to work in the country of employment without requiring visa sponsorship are preferred. Candidates who can complete relocation within the EU before the commencement of employment are also preferred.
• Willingness to travel across Europe for approximately 25%–40% of working time, as well as travel to headquarters 1–2 times per year.
