With a reputation for technical excellence and operational reliability, they are expanding their in‑house maintenance capability and seeking a hands‑on Workshop Technician to join their team just outside Amsterdam.

Role Overview

The Workshop Technician will play a key role in maintaining and preparing HDD equipment for upcoming projects. The position involves organising, inspecting, and repairing tools and machinery returning from the field, ensuring all assets are in safe and serviceable condition before redeployment.

This role would suit someone with a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a proactive, practical mindset – ideal for candidates who enjoy hands‑on work in a busy workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, organize, and log equipment and tools returning from HDD project sites.
• Carry out inspection and testing of mechanical and hydraulic components to identify faults or wear.
• Perform routine maintenance and manual repairs on drilling tools, mud systems, pumps, and other HDD support equipment.
• Clean, refurbish, and prepare tooling for future use, ensuring readiness for dispatch to new projects.
• Work closely with the Operations and Field Teams to support mobilisation and demobilisation activities.
• Maintain workshop inventory and ensure spare parts and consumables are adequately stocked.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient working environment in line with company HSE standards.
• Support continual improvement of maintenance processes and record‑keeping systems.

Requirements

• Previous hands‑on mechanical experience in a workshop, plant maintenance, or HDD/utility equipment environment.
• Good working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems.
• Comfortable using hand tools, lifting equipment, and measuring instruments.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
