Job summary

Karl Lagerfeld in Amsterdam is looking for a Wholesale Operations Specialist with marketplace experience to join our team. You will manage outbound operations, inventory, and pricing, while collaborating with sales, merchandising, finance and logistics to deliver timely shipments and accurate data.

You will analyze data, generate reports, and act as a liaison for customers and internal teams to optimize marketplace performance and service levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management, Accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end outbound operations including inventory management, seasonality, pricing, promotions and customer service.
  • Support the sales team and act as the primary contact for customers with information on seasonal product lines, prices, and reports.
  • Own the outbound flow of goods during the shipping season to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Maintain an overview of processes and information flow across departments (production, sales, merchandising, logistics) and anticipate implications for operations and customers.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to optimize operations and service quality.
  • Provide management and key accounts with shipping and sales reports and other data-driven insights.
  • Interpret data to identify issues and provide troubleshooting with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure accuracy, reliability and actionable data across reports.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a Wholesale Operations Specialist with expertise in Marketplace Operations to join our team.

The Wholesale Operations Department comprises of a cross-functional team responsible for managing the flow of information between various departments including production, sales, merchandising, finance, and our warehouse. Your primary goal will be to ensure timely, complete, and accurate deliveries to our valued customers by optimizing operational efficiency and maintaining a service-centric approach.

As a key member of our operations department, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our marketplace operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and oversee end-to-end outbound operations, including inventory management, seasonal orderbook management, pricing, promotions, and customer service
  • Support the sales team and act as the primary point of contact for customers by providing information on seasonal product lines, prices, reporting and serve as liaison between other departments in the organization.
  • Assume full ownership of outbound flow of goods during the shipping season, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers.
  • Maintain a helicopter overview of processes and information flow between different departments including production, sales, merchandising, and logistics departments and anticipate any implications for operations and our customers further down the line.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and work collaboratively with other departments to implement changes that optimize operations processes and enhance our customer services experience.
  • Provide management and the special accounts with shipping reports, sales reports, and other date-driven insights.
  • Ability to manage and interpret data, identify potential issues and provide immediate troubleshooting support with minimal guidance/supervision.
  • Confident in challenging numbers and information derived from reports, ensuring that all data is accurate, reliable, and actionable.
THE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Business Administration or Management, Supply Chain Management, Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years customer service experiences and or sales account management (preferably in a related industry or equivalent combination of education and related work experience).
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English; Other European language is a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial “can-do” attitude, excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to understand the whole scope and the chain reaction of events from Sales, via Purchasing to Inbound and Outbound of goods.
  • Excellent Excel skills (familiarity with v-lookups and pivot tables in particular) and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Complete understanding of inventory management.
  • Strong customerservice orientation and excellent communication.
  • An independent person, who takes initiative and mobilizes people to get things done; remains flexible and curious to figure out new/efficient ways of working.
  • Works collaboratively within a larger cross-functional team to manage the business needs and leverage business building opportunities.
