Job summary

KARL LAGERFELD is seeking a Menswear Designer to create contemporary, commercial collections that embody the brand DNA. You will work closely with the Senior Menswear Designer across Mainline and Outlet, developing products from concept through production while upholding the KARL aesthetic.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in commercial menswear design, strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and fit, and proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fashion Design.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in commercial menswear design.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims and fit.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven creative tools (StyleAI, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Vizcom) and an interest in digital innovation.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a good understanding of the global menswear market.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Design commercial menswear across multiple product categories aligned with seasonal concepts and brand DNA.
  • Develop graphics, prints and seasonal design concepts.
  • Research trends, materials and global market developments.
  • Create technical sketches and tech packs.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development, Merchandising, Buying and suppliers throughout the development process.
  • Attend fittings, sample reviews and factory visits when required.
  • Leverage AI-powered design tools to support research, concept generation, visualization and product development while maintaining a strong creative vision.
  • Help ensure consistency across all menswear collections.

The Role:

As a Menswear Designer, you will create contemporary, commercial collections that embody the KARL LAGERFELD DNA—timeless, modern and effortlessly cool. Working closely with the Senior Menswear Designer, you will contribute across both Mainline and Outlet collections, ensuring a consistent brand vision while developing innovative products from concept through production.
