Job summary

Tellent is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer in Amsterdam to transform raw data into strategic assets for finance, product forecasting, and GTM planning. You’ll own the data logic, build high-performance data models, and act as the bridge between our technical stack and business leadership.

You’ll enable self-service analytics across Finance, Product, and GTM teams. Expect to work with GCP-based pipelines, BigQuery, dbt, and ELT tools, shaping a governed data environment and an AI-ready roadmap

Qualifications

• Solid experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Analysis, or Data Engineering delivering data products for reporting and decision-making.
• Expert in SQL with performant, modular code; Python and Git are advantageous.
• Experience with dbt and BigQuery; ELT tools like Airbyte or Fivetran.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Data Product Ownership: Manage end-to-end lifecycle of internal data products and translate business questions into technical requirements.
• Advanced Analytics Engineering: Design, build, and maintain core data models using dbt Labs for financial reporting, churn forecasting, and reverse-ETL flows.
• Data Governance & Semantic Layering: Implement governance standards and build a semantic layer to ensure consistent metrics company-wide.
• Data Democratization & Enablement: Design training and documentation with RevOps to empower Finance, Product, and GTM teams.

Data Analytics Engineer - Amsterdam

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to transform our raw data into a strategic asset. While your DataOps colleagues build the "plumbing," you will own the "logic," designing the high-performance data models that power our financial reporting, product forecasting, and GTM strategy. This role is about more than just writing SQL; you will be the primary link between our technical infrastructure and business leadership, ensuring every department has the reliable, self-service data they need to move fast.

Your 12-Month Journey

• During the first 3 months:you will learn about our existing stack (GCP, BigQuery, Airbyte, dbt), core business data models, and understand the current pain points in our data flow. You will deliver and optimize your first high-priority models for product usage and financial reporting. You will partner with the Data Engineer to align on the new infrastructure roadmap.
• Within 6 months:you will implement a robust semantic layer to standardize KPIs across the company and enable AI-readiness and advanced natural language querying.
• After 1 year:Fully own the company’s data modeling architecture, ensuring it is prepared for AI and machine learning applications. Act as a strategic advisor to department heads, using data to help shape the company’s long-term growth and forecasting strategies. Maintain a world-class, governed data environment where business users can explore data with confidence.
  

What You’ll Be Doing

• Strategic Data Product Ownership:Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of our internal data products. You will partner with stakeholders to translate complex business questions into technical requirements, selecting the right tools to ensure our reporting is scalable, accessible, and high-impact.
• Advanced Analytics Engineering:Design, build, and maintain our core data models usingdbt Labs. You will own the logic for mission-critical datasets, including financial reporting, churn forecasting, and reverse-ETL flows that sync warehouse data back into our business tools (e.g., Planhat, HubSpot).
• Data Governance & Semantic Layering:Act as the guardian of "The Truth." You will implement data governance standards and build oursemantic layer to ensure metrics are consistent across the company.
• Data Democratization & Enablement:In collaboration with RevOps, you will design and deliver training programs and documentation. Your goal is to empower users across Finance, Product, and GTM to independently navigate data products and derive their own insights.
• Collaboration:You will be the central hub of our data organization. You will work daily with theData Engineer to align on the roadmap, while frequently consulting withFinance, GTM, and Product leaders to ensure our data products solve their most pressing problems.
  

What You Bring

• Solid experiencein Analytics Engineering, Data Analysis, or Data Engineering, with a track record of independently delivering data products that enable reporting, decision-making, and CDP use cases.
• You are an expert inSQLand understand how to write performant, modular code. Familiarity withPythonandGitfor optimizing and versioning data transformations is a significant advantage.
• Deep, hands-on experience withdbtandBigQueryis a must. You should also be comfortable navigatingELTtools like Airbyte or Fivetran.
• Commercially savvy: you understand the business. You can spot opportunities where data can improve ARR, reduce churn, or optimize spend.
• You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable creating structure out of the uncertainty of a scaling company.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills. You are a "bilingual" communicator who can discuss warehouse schemas with an engineer and ARR growth with a CFO. You are skilled at managing a roadmap that balances business requests with essential foundational work.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, at a minimum C1 level
