Job summary

KERN-LIEBERS is seeking a custodial technician for our production areas. The role involves cleaning, material handling, and supporting multiple departments to ensure smooth production flows.

The position starts with a 60-day probationary period, followed by benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401k plan. A base rate of $18.59/hr with added incentive opportunities is offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of 5s.
• Valid driver?s license.
• Able to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
• Stand, walk and bend for most of the shift.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Some climbing, crawling and/or kneeling may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial work in production areas (sweeping, cleaning, trash removal).
• Remove scrap and refuse; empty waste receptacles; operate cleaning equipment.
• Use forklift trucks to move scrap and trash.
• Use company vehicle for pick-up and delivery of items.
• Maintain tools and machines; assist with miscellaneous tasks.
• Perform material handling within plant, yard, or work site.
• Count, pack, store, and deliver materials to production and shipping areas.
• Support production and other departments as needed.
• Sort materials and perform quality checks; backup for breaks to keep equipment running.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., changing oil).

Job description

• Performs routine custodial work in all the production areas such as sweeping and cleaning, trash removal.
• Removes scrap and refuse. Empties waste receptacles. Uses brooms or hand operated power scrubbing, and vacuuming equipment.
• Uses forklift trucks to remove scrap and trash.
• Uses company vehicle for pick-up and delivery of various items.
• Responsible for the upkeep of tools and machines. Any miscellaneous job as assigned.
• Performs material handling functions which may include loading, unloading or moving material within the plant, yard or work site.
• Counts, packs, stores, handles and delivers materials, supplies, in process and finished goods to production and shipping areas.
• May support production and other departments as needed.
• Performs sorting manually or with automated system, quality checks, basket changes, backup for break coverage to maintain equipment running, etc.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks, for example changing oil.
