Job summary

KCAP is seeking an International Urban Designer to join our Rotterdam office and lead design work on international projects. You will collaborate with partners, translate urban theories into concept designs, and engage with clients across cultures.

The ideal candidate has 4–8 years of experience, a strong background in urban design and architecture, and excellent storytelling and communication skills. Fluency in English is required, with Dutch or regional languages a plus.

YOUR ROLE

You will work in a team with one of our associate partners and regularly with one of the partners

You will mainly work on international projects

You will liaise with the collaborating parties.

Job requirements

A Master's degree in urban design/planning or a Masters degree in architecture with a specialism and/or relevant working experience in urban design

4-8 years of relevant work experience

Given the international focus of this role, proven ability to operate in different cultural contexts.

A conceptually strong designer with analytical and research skills.

A strategic thinker ,interested in cities and urban design theories,

An independent team player

Experienced on various scales, from strategic planning to detailed urban design

Skilled in storytelling

Affinity with architecture and landscape design

Good communication skills and a strong client-focused approach.

Excellent skills and knowledge of Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Vectorworks and/or AutoCAD (2D/3D)

The ability to speak, write and read English fluently is a must. Knowledge of Dutch, Central- or eastern European languages a plus

In possession of a valid work permit for the Netherlands.
