Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Mine Surveyor to join underground mining operations based in Welkom. You will conduct precise surveys underground and on the surface, maintain survey records, and provide data for mine planning and production teams.

Essential qualifications include a Mine Surveying degree and SAGC registration, with 4+ years in underground mining. Proficiency in total stations, GPS/GNSS, AutoCAD, Surpac, and Minesight is required.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• SAGC Professional Mine Surveyor registration.
• Minimum 4 years underground mining surveying experience.
• Proficient with total stations, digital levels, GPS/GNSS and software such as AutoCAD, Surpac, Minesight.

Responsibilities

• Conduct underground and surface surveys, including setting out development and production lines.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks using advanced equipment.
• Prepare and update mine plans, sections, and digital terrain models.
• Monitor and report on mine volume calculations for ore and waste.
• Record, process, and file survey data according to standards.
• Collaborate with mine planning engineers and production teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory survey requirements.
