Job summary

Booking.com is seeking a Treasury Accounting lead to own the accounting review framework for FX and hedging across the group. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Solid experience in accounting, financial close, treasury accounting, or a related control-focused finance environment within a complex international organisation.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS, with the ability to apply accounting requirements to complex FX, derivatives, hedging, and treasury-related transactions.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting outputs, and month-end close deliverables.
• Experience working within a structured financial control environment, including control design or execution, review, issue remediation, and audit support.
• Experience translating business and operational requirements into accounting processes, system requirements, controls, and reporting outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across international brand teams.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgement, and a high degree of ownership and accountability.
• Ability to challenge constructively, make informed decisions, and elevate risks clearly in a fast-moving and complex environment.
• Continuous improvement mindset, with experience driving process standardisation, automation, or control enhancement.

Responsibilities

• Own and govern the accounting review framework for FX and hedging activities across the Booking.com group.
• Act as the primary reviewer and stakeholder liaison for daily hedge cycles, including review of outputs, investigation of exceptions, and coordination of issue resolution.
• Maintain and continuously improve the accounting logic, decision rules, controls, documentation, and escalation paths supporting treasury and hedging processes.
• Provide accounting ownership for complex hedging programmes across entities, ensuring that activity is appropriately understood, reviewed, documented, and reflected in the financial records.
• Drive project delivery for treasury initiatives, including requirements definition, process and control design, accounting logic validation, stakeholder alignment, testing, implementation, and post-implementation review.
• Review treasury-related journal entries, reconciliations, hedge accounting outputs, and other close deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and correct period recognition.
• Maintain oversight of reconciliations and support an adequate approval structure, including continuity of two designated approvers for daily FX exposures and BlackLine reconciliations.
• Provide oversight of COE cash management activities from a Treasury Accounting perspective, including review of key outputs, exceptions, controls, and escalations.
• Partner with Treasury, the COE, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Finance Systems, Technology, and relevant brand teams to resolve issues and strengthen end-to-end processes.
• Coordinate responses to internal and external audit requests relating to treasury, FX, hedging, reconciliations, and associated controls.
• Maintain clear and current process documentation, including ownership models, control descriptions, review procedures, decision trees, and escalation paths.
• Support ad hoc analysis and projects driven by emerging treasury, accounting, risk, control, or business priorities.
