Job summary

Trans-Matic Mfg. Co. is seeking a tooling scheduler to plan and manage tool room work orders, ensuring routings are created from tool prints and capacity is optimized to meet production needs.

You will monitor the tool room schedule, coordinate with production control, and support maintenance planning while communicating effectively with toolmakers and designers.

• Experience with scheduling tools and Excel is essential.
• Familiarity with tool room equipment and machining processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create machine tool routings from tool prints.
• Monitor tool room capacity and inform Tool Room Lead for sourcing decisions.
• Align tool build schedule with shop floor production schedule.
• Plan short- and long-term capacity to optimize tooling output.
• Maintain current tool order system and purge obsolete orders.
• Generate delivery status reports for tooling projects.
• Support scheduling preventive maintenance and machine service/repair.

Job description

Process Machine Tool orders and create equipment scheduling for the Tool Room. This includes creating tool build routings, setting personnel and machine schedules, and coordinating all functions and operations specific to tooling orders. Also providing technical support for Toolmakers and Designers regarding tooling.

Job Specifications/Qualifications: (Min. knowledge, skills, and abilities required)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize scheduling software to create job routings for the Tool Room.
• Monitor tool room capacity and provide real-time information to the Tool Room Lead to facilitate decisions regarding sourcing of tool builds.
• Work with Production Control to ensure tool build schedule aligns with shop floor production schedule.
• Monitor the production forecast and provide short-term and long-term planning for optimum tool room capacity utilization.
• Ensure tooling work order system is always current and purging unnecessary orders.
• Maintain delivery status reports (late vs. on-time tooling).
• Support tool room personnel with scheduling preventive maintenance and machine service/repair.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• Ability to create Machine Tool routings from tool prints.
• Proven competency in computer literacy especially experience with Microsoft Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• In-depth knowledge of Machine Tool equipment.
• In-depth understanding of tooling prints.
• CNC Machining experience and/or experience with Machine Tool equipment like Lathes, Mills, EDM.
