Job summary

Walton County Public Works is seeking a Temporary Laborer to perform unskilled manual tasks across construction, maintenance, landscaping and grounds-keeping of county facilities and roads. You will assist in drainage work, mowing, fencing, and debris removal, and you may respond to emergencies and help with events and traffic control.

The role requires basic reading/writing and math skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Flagging Certification.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform unskilled, manual work in construction, maintenance, landscaping and grounds-keeping of county streets, drainage and facilities.
• Respond to emergency calls; clear debris after storms or events; assist with events and traffic control.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and equipment; monitor safety and efficiency; complete forms and documentation.
