Job summary

Mpac Langen seeks a Technical Writer to own machine documentation and deliver user manuals for complete packaging machines. You will collaborate with engineers, R&D, service and operations to ensure compliance with legislation and high-quality content.

Responsibilities include creating training materials, managing documentation in Author‑IT, and coordinating translations while improving templates and processes across projects. Fluency in Dutch and English is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as a Technical Writer in mechanical engineering.
• Experience creating technical manuals and construction files.
• Familiar with content management systems; preferably Author‑IT.
• Knowledge of machine directives and CE processes.
• Strong Dutch and English language skills; good layout/graphics sense.
• Structured, accurate and communicative work style.

At Mpac Langen, we are looking for a Technical Writer who enjoys collaborating with engineers, project teams and customers to deliver professional documentation that meets the highest technical and regulatory standards.

The Role

As a Technical Writer, you are the bridge between technology and the end user. You will take ownership of our machine documentation, ensuring it is clear, structured, customer‑focused and fully compliant with legislation and standards.

What Will You Do?

• Writing and maintaining user manuals for complete machines
• Developing training materials at Operator and Advanced levels
• Setting up, managing and improving documentation in Author‑IT
• Gathering and structuring technical input in close collaboration with Engineering, R&D, Service and Operations
• Drafting and managing CE documentation and construction files
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring documentation activities within projects
• Organising and coordinating translations
• Continuously improving documentation processes, templates and standards

You will work independently on projects while playing a key role within multidisciplinary teams.

Experience / Qualifications

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience as a Technical Writer in mechanical engineering / machine building
• You have proven experience creating technical manuals and technical construction files
• You are familiar with content management systems, preferably Author‑IT
• You have knowledge of machine directives and CE processes
• You have an eye for graphic design, layout, and ideally experience with video or animation
• You work in a structured, accurate and communicative manner
• You have a strong command of Dutch and English
