Job summary

Lely, a leading innovator in automated dairy-farming technology, invites applications for a Hub & Tooling Specialist at our Maassluis campus. The role focuses on keeping the Lely Hub platform and central technician tooling secure, stable, and available, directly supporting field technicians and uninterrupted farming operations worldwide.

You’ll work within the Digital Operations Center (DOC), collaborating with Product Development, DOC Direct Impact, Clusters, and Lely Centers across countries

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level working and thinking capability with a technical or IT background.
• At least 3 years of experience in IT operations, application support, or similar technical environments.
• Experience with monitoring solutions and second/third-line operational support.
• Ability to read system state from outputs for proactive troubleshooting and service improvement.
• Experience documenting procedures and sharing knowledge with users or colleagues.
• Proactive mindset with ownership and operational excellence.
• Residence in the Netherlands with valid work permit.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation after training.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health, performance, and availability of Lely Hub and technician tooling.
• Resolve complex incidents and support second/third-line investigations.
• Coordinate releases, rollouts, and operational readiness for deployments.
• Improve monitoring, observability, security, and access management across platforms.

Job Description

As a Hub & Tooling Specialist, you help ensure that critical digital services remain secure, stable, and available every day. Your work directly supports technicians in the field and contributes to an uninterrupted farming operation for our customers.

Within the Digital Operations Center (DOC), you combine operational excellence with a continuous improvement mindset. You work closely with Product Development teams, DOC Direct Impact, Clusters, and Lely Centers worldwide. By connecting operational insights with product improvements, you help shape services and tooling that thousands of users rely on every day. Imagine seeing feedback from the field translated into a better product experience, while knowing your work helps farmers continue their daily operations without disruption.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring the health, performance, and availability of the Lely Hub platform and central technician tooling.
• Resolving complex operational incidents and supporting second and third-line investigations.
• Coordinating releases, rollouts, and operational readiness activities to ensure smooth deployments.
• Improving monitoring, observability, security, and access management capabilities across the platform landscape.
• Working together with Product Development teams and operational stakeholders to translate field feedback into structural improvements.
• Maintaining documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge materials while supporting and training technicians when needed.

Qualifications

You enjoy combining technology, operations, and continuous improvement. You quickly understand complex systems, identify opportunities to improve them, and work effectively with stakeholders across different teams and countries. You take ownership, communicate clearly, and remain focused on delivering reliable services that create value for users.

Additionally, you bring the following:

• A bachelor's level working and thinking capability, gained through education, experience, or a combination of both, with a technical or IT background.
• At least 3 years of experience in IT operations, application support, or a similar technical environment.
• Experience with monitoring solutions and second and third-line operational support activities.
• The ability to understand a system's internal state through its external outputs, enabling proactive troubleshooting, optimization, and service improvement.
• Experience documenting procedures and sharing knowledge with users or technical colleagues.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, ownership, and operational excellence.
• Residence in the Netherlands with a valid work permit (sponsorship is not an option).
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation after completing the internal training program.
