Job summary

Prodrive Technologies is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join the PMS team. You ensure availability, reliability and performance of internal production equipment, including automated systems.

You troubleshoot failures, perform root cause analyses and work hands-on with mechanical, electrical and software issues to sustain production. You will drive improvements to increase uptime, document findings, and support cross‑functional teams on reliability projects in a dynamic, international

Qualifications

• MBO 3/4 or HBO in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
• Affinity with mechanics, electronics and basic software troubleshooting.
• Experience with structured problem‑solving methods.
• Willing to work in a two‑shift system.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues at component and system level.
• Carry out corrective repairs and verify operational readiness.
• Document findings in maintenance logs and RCA reports.
• Conduct root‑cause analyses using 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on improvements.

About the role

Technical Support Engineer in our Prodrive Machine Services (PMS) team ensures availability, reliability, and performance of internal production equipment, including complex automated systems such as robot cells for dispensing, pick-and-place, laser marking, and automated test solutions.

You are responsible for maintaining these systems, troubleshooting failures, and performing root cause analysis to drive lasting improvements. You work hands‑on with mechanical, electrical, and occasionally software-related issues, directly contributing to the continuity and efficiency of our production.

What You Bring

• A technical background (MBO 3/4 or HBO) in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Automotive
• The ability to read and interpret technical documents, mechanical/electrical schematics, and assembly instructions
• Affinity with mechanics, electronics, and basic software troubleshooting
• Experience with or willingness to learn structured problem‑solving methods
• A proactive mindset with attention to safety, quality, and detail
• Willing to work in two‑shift system

Bonus Qualifications

• NEN 3140 certification (VOP/VP)
• FESTO or ABB robotics training
