About the Role
United Imaging Healthcare Europe is looking for a hands-on Technical Support Engineer to support uOmnispace and related server, workstation and connected service solutions across Europe.
uOmnispace is a server-based medical imaging and post-processing platform. It provides multi-user access through networked clients and connects with imaging modalities and PACS systems via DICOM.
This role will serve as the regional escalation point for local service engineers and support hospital IT teams during deployment, upgrade and complex troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Support - Provide regional technical support for uOmnispace, servers, workstations and related software.
- Deployment - Support installation, configuration, upgrade and validation of uOmnispace server-client environments.
- System Troubleshooting - Troubleshoot server and workstation hardware, Linux and Windows systems, storage, performance, services and system logs.
- Network Diagnostics - Diagnose network issues involving TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, proxy servers, ports and certificates.
- DICOM Integration - Configure and troubleshoot DICOM connectivity with United Imaging and third-party modalities, PACS and VNA systems.
- IoT & Remote Services - Support deployment of United Imaging IoT and remote service solutions according to approved procedures.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance - Work with hospital IT teams to meet European and country-specific cybersecurity, data protection and access-control requirements.
- Documentation & Knowledge Transfer - Maintain troubleshooting guides and case documentation, and transfer technical knowledge to local service engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in healthcare IT, medical imaging IT, PACS, server support or enterprise software deployment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of computer and server hardware, including CPU, memory, GPU, RAID, storage and network interfaces.
- Strong practical networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, DNS, firewalls, VPNs and network troubleshooting tools.
- Hands-on Linux administration and troubleshooting experience, with working knowledge of Windows environments.
- Experience supporting multi-user client-server systems and preferably virtualized environments.
- Practical knowledge of DICOM communication, including AE Titles, ports, Verification, Storage, Worklist and Query/Retrieve.
- Experience with PACS, medical imaging equipment or other hospital IT systems.
- Working knowledge of European healthcare cybersecurity and data protection requirements, with the ability to adapt deployments to local hospital and country-specific policies.
- Strong troubleshooting, customer communication and technical documentation skills.
- English proficiency at B2 level or above.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Europe.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with uOmnispace or similar platforms.
- Experience with VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, SQL, Bash or PowerShell.
- Experience deploying IoT, remote monitoring or secure remote service connections.
- Familiarity with European healthcare security frameworks such as NEN 7510, BSI/KRITIS, HDS/ANSSI or NHS DSPT/DTAC.
- Additional European languages and experience supporting hospital IT environments in Western or Northern Europe.
