Job summary

Acta Marine, Rotterdam, seeks a Technical Superintendent to ensure safe, reliable operations of state-of-the-art W2W vessels. You will lead technical maintenance, budgets, and safety programs, guiding engineers and crews to high performance.

You will bring 8–12 years in marine/offshore, DP2/SOV experience, and STCW Management Level, with a focus on compliance, cost control, and continuous improvement. Hybrid work with vessel visits is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• STCW Management Level Certificate (Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer).
• 8–12 years of technical experience in the marine or offshore industry, including 3–5 years in a superintendent or senior engineering role.
• Proven experience managing DP2 vessels, SOVs, or W2W units in offshore wind or oil & gas operations.
• Strong knowledge of Class rules, ISM, PMS, and HSE systems.
• Experience with fleet management and maintenance software (e.g. Marad).
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Valid offshore medical certificate (OGUK or equivalent) and BOSIET / FOET with CA-EBS.
• GWO Basic Safety Training is a plus.
• Based in the Rotterdam Area is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Managing the technical condition, maintenance, and performance of assigned (C)SOVs.
• Planning, executing, and monitoring preventive and corrective maintenance, including annual and intermediate surveys.
• Ensuring compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, and other relevant maritime regulations.
• Overseeing maintenance and certification of DP and motion-compensated gangway systems.
• Conducting vessel inspections and condition assessments to ensure operational readiness.
• Supporting offshore wind operations by ensuring vessel reliability during turbine access and maintenance campaigns.
• Preparing and managing technical budgets (OPEX/CAPEX) and monitor procurement of spare parts and services.
• Planning and supervising dry-dockings, major repairs, and class renewals.
• Driving continuous improvement in safety, technical performance, and operational efficiency.
• Leading or supporting incident investigations and promoting a strong QHSSE culture on board and onshore.
• Mentoring and guiding Engineers, Superintendents, and vessel crews.
