Job description

The Technical Department is responsible for managing all repair and maintenance activities across the Allseas fleet. Our fleet includes a heavy lift vessel, a deep-sea mining vessel, pipe laying vessels and barges, offshore support vessels, as well as several supply vessels and unmanned barges. Together, these assets represent more than 300 MW of installed power, a figure that has quadrupled over the past ten years.

With a team of more than 50 specialists, the department supports vessels, sites and projects worldwide, ensuring our assets operate safely, efficiently and sustainably. The Technical Department plays a key role in maintaining and continuously improving the technical capabilities of our fleet, while supporting the delivery of some of the industry's most challenging offshore projects.

A major focus area is the ongoing hybridisation of several vessels, alongside a range of sustainability initiatives that contribute to reducing emissions and improving operational efficiency. By combining technical expertise with innovation, the department helps shape the future of Allseas' operations.

Your role

As a Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring that the assigned vessel remain safe, reliable and fit for purpose throughout their operational lifecycle. Acting as the key technical focal point, you will work closely with vessel crews, technical specialists, project teams and external stakeholders to coordinate maintenance, modifications and long-term asset improvements.

  • Monitoring relevant legislation and requirements from flag states, classification societies, IMO and other regulatory bodies, and initiating required actions where necessary;
  • Using available business intelligence tools and technical data to support informed decision-making, including downtime, cost control, inventory and asset management dashboards;
  • Ensuring assigned assets remain technically compliant, operationally efficient and fit for purpose;
  • Managing the daily repair and maintenance activities of assigned vessels in close cooperation with Technical Department colleagues and other internal disciplines;
  • Preparing, managing and controlling annual repair, maintenance and investment budgets;
  • Acting as Project Manager for repairs, modifications, damage repairs and vessel preparation scopes;
  • Identifying opportunities for standardisation, optimisation and continuous improvement of technical procedures and working methods;
  • Approving purchase orders and invoices in accordance with the applicable authorisation matrix;
  • Contributing to annual technical status reporting and vessel inspection activities;
  • Preparing and executing repair, maintenance and modification scopes during port calls;
  • Maintaining and prioritising repair lists, including overdue maintenance, project-related modifications and long-term investment plans;
  • Maintaining close communication and collaboration with vessel crews and other stakeholders.
