Job summary

Allseas Group S.A. is seeking a Technical Superintendent to ensure vessels stay safe, reliable and fit for purpose throughout their operational lifecycle.

You will coordinate with crews, technical teams and external stakeholders on maintenance, modifications and long-term asset improvements. The role requires a degree in Maritime Technology or engineering, 5+ years in a coordinating technical role, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

  • You hold a BSc or MSc degree in Maritime Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable discipline.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in an all-round coordinating technical role.
  • You possess in-depth knowledge of maritime legislation and the requirements of classification societies and the IMO.
  • Experience within a maritime or offshore environment is a strong advantage.
  • You are analytically strong, proactive and capable of balancing operational priorities with long‑term asset management objectives.
  • You are an effective communicator who enjoys working with both technical specialists and vessel crews.
  • You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring relevant legislation and requirements from flag states, classification societies, IMO and other regulatory bodies, and initiating required actions where necessary.
  • Using business intelligence tools and technical data to support informed decision-making, including downtime, cost control, inventory and asset management dashboards.
  • Ensuring assigned assets remain technically compliant, operationally efficient and fit for purpose.
  • Managing the daily repair and maintenance activities of assigned vessels in close cooperation with Technical Department colleagues and other internal disciplines.
  • Preparing, managing and controlling annual repair, maintenance and investment budgets.
  • Acting as Project Manager for repairs, modifications, damage repairs and vessel preparation scopes.
  • Identifying opportunities for standardisation, optimisation and continuous improvement of technical procedures and working methods.
  • Approving purchase orders and invoices in accordance with the applicable authorisation matrix.
  • Contributing to annual technical status reporting and vessel inspection activities.
  • Preparing and executing repair, maintenance and modification scopes during port calls.
  • Maintaining and prioritising repair lists, including overdue maintenance, project-related modifications and long-term investment plans.
  • Maintaining close communication and collaboration with vessel crews and other stakeholders.

Job description

As a Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring that the assigned vessel remain safe, reliable and fit for purpose throughout their operational lifecycle. Acting as the key technical focal point, you will work closely with vessel crews, technical specialists, project teams and external stakeholders to coordinate maintenance, modifications and long-term asset improvements.

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

To be successful in this role, you should largely recognise yourself in the following:
