Job summary

PropRec Search in Amsterdam seeks an experienced Audio Visual Technical Services Manager to lead and develop a team of Applications Engineers across Europe. The role combines technical leadership, people management, pre-sales support, project delivery and product development for complex AV projects with international clients.

The position requires strong hands-on AV expertise, leadership capabilities and excellent English communication in a fast-paced professional environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of Applications Engineers delivering high-quality technical support.

• Support performance management of Applications Engineers.
• Ensure efficient operation aligned with processes and standards.

• Strong and practical A/V experience in the field either with an A/V manufacturer or at a reseller in a technical position that involves managing, system design, programming and commissioning of AV, AV control and AV over IP systems.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual Technical Services Manager to lead and develop a team of Applications Engineers, providing a high level of technical, design and applications support to resellers and customers across Europe.

This is a senior engineering management position within the Sales function, combining technical leadership, people management, pre‑sales support, project delivery, customer support and technical training.

The Audio Visual Technical Services Manager will act as a senior technical authority, supporting complex AV projects, tenders, system designs, commissioning activities and escalated technical issues. The successful candidate will have a strong practical background in professional AV integration, including system design, programming, commissioning, AV control and AV over IP.

The role will work closely with Sales Managers, Technical Sales and Account Managers, Applications Engineers, resellers and internal product development teams to ensure customers receive a consistently high level of technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and coach a team of Applications Engineers, ensuring consistently high standards of technical support are delivered to customers and resellers.
• Set, manage and monitor individual and team objectives relating to technical sales support and customer service.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across complex projects and escalated technical issues.
• Manage technical projects involving system design, commissioning, troubleshooting and customer support.
• Support the development and performance management of Applications Engineers.
• Ensure the team operates efficiently, proactively and in line with agreed processes and standards.

Pre‑Sales & Technical Support

• Manage the Applications Engineering team's support to Sales Management, Sales Managers, Technical Sales and Account Managers throughout the pre‑sales process.
• Ensure appropriate technical support is provided for complex system designs, tenders, quotations and major projects.

Technical Responsibilities

The Audio Visual Technical Services Manager will be expected to maintain a high level of technical competence and be capable of performing the responsibilities of a highly experienced Applications Engineer when required.

This includes:

• AV system design and integration.
• AV control systems and programming.
• AV over IP technologies.
• System troubleshooting and technical support.
• System commissioning and configuration.
• Technical tender and quotation support.
• Complex project design and technical consultancy.
• Escalated customer and reseller technical support.

The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain their knowledge of emerging AV technologies, industry developments and new product releases.
