Are you passionate about reducing the climate impact of freight and logistics? We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Manager - Market Based Measures to support Smart Freight Centre's work on emissions accounting, book and claim approaches, and decarbonization standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technical frameworks, collaborating with industry experts, and turning complex sustainability concepts into practical solutions. You'll work closely with colleagues, member companies, and international stakeholders to help advance credible emissions reporting and accelerate the decarbonization of global freight and logistics.
Think about the package that just arrived at your doorstep. The products on store shelves, or the goods being shipped across oceans. Logistics is everywhere, powering the world we live in. And because it's everywhere, it's also one of the biggest contributors to carbon emissions globally. That's where Smart Freight Centre (SFC) steps in. We're tackling the carbon footprint of logistics head-on, working with businesses, governments, and key players around the globe. Our mission? To transform the logistics sector into a zero-emission industry by 2050, or hopefully even sooner. Want to help drive this change? Join us.
As a Technical Manager, specializing in Market Based Measures (MBM), your role involves collaborating with Program Management to expedite the adoption and acknowledgment of SFC's "Voluntary Market Based Measures Framework for Logistics Emissions Accounting and Reporting" and its accompanying standard, the MBM Specification. The primary objective is establishing confidence and credibility in SFC's chain of custody (i.e., book and claim) accounting practices, positioning them as acknowledged methods for Scope 3 decarbonization claims in transportation and logistics.
